Where are you originally from?

I’m originally from Conway, South Carolina. Its about 15 minutes away from Myrtle Beach.

So are you in New York right now or Connecticut?

I’m in Connecticut, but I’m back and forth between Connecticut and New York.

Right now you’re with JaGore Music Group but I’m sure there are other labels trying to get at you. Do you want to name, drop any labels or any labels that you’re wanting to go to? Do you have a preference?

Actually no, I don’t really have a preference of which label. I’m currently working with an inside person at Jive. I met with somebody, well they saw me in a showcase from J Record. So it’s a couple of labels that’s looking, but its not really a preference just whose offering the best situation on my behalf.

On the song “Take Away The Pain”, you give people a taste of your rapping skills. Will you be dropping a bar or two throughout your songs, when the album comes out?

Yeah, I’m sure I would. I mean its in me so I can give them a little taste of that also cause that is a part of my music that I do. Right now I am just concentrating really on the R&B right now but you got to keep recreating yourself. I don’t want to give everybody to much of it because they will be like I know everything that she is about. I want to surprise people because a lot of people don’t know that I spit in the background.

As a female artist what you do believe sets you apart from other female artist that are already signed? What do you think that’s going to make you different?

Well, what makes me different? There can’t be another Natalia. I have my own styleof music. A lot of my writing comes from my history, the things that I’ve been through, the things that I think a lot of my family members and friends, people around me are going through. I’m just me, just a country girl who moved to the city trying to do my thing. Just trying to be different, I let my music speak for itself.

Are there any artist that impacted you growing up, influenced you besides your family?

I like Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Betty Wright, you know some of the old school people that my family still listen to now a days (laugh). I listen to gospel. It’s a lot of artist that influenced me.  As I was saying, Lauryn Hill just because she is so diverse. She raps and she sings; Mary J. Blige because she has that soul a lot of people compare me to. As far as having that soul to Mary J. Blige; R. Kelly because he tells a story. I like Busta Rhymes because he is so animated. It’s a lot of artist that inspire me.

Speaking of Lauryn Hill, I noticed that you have been compared to Lauryn Hill. How does it feel to be compared to such a respected artist that’s in the music world?

To be compared to her, I feel honored because I believe that she is an incredible young lady in how she carries herself, even the things that she says in her music. She takes it so personal with her life and her stories that she puts in it and not only that I believe that they compare me to her as far as she sings and she raps so they look at that with me. It don't think its the fact that we have the same style but as far as that she goes for hers and the soulfulness in her voice.

At any point in the future are you looking to work with anyone in particular?

I like a lot of artist such as Missy, Mary, Lauryn. Hopefully, R. Kelly, Nelly, you know a lot, even probably 50 Cent (laugh).
